Floods, great heat, and a great plague...
Record heat wave settles over New York City...
NEW YORK -- The city sweltered Tuesday in the grip of a stifling heat wave that broke records, straining power supplies as New Yorkers desperately cranked up air conditioners. Forecasters offered little hope, predicting only a barely noticeable drop in daytime temperatures for the rest of the week. In Central Park, the mercury reached 97 degrees in early afternoon, tying a record set in 1988.
"When you get the heat from the cars and the subways that pass, that's when it's really nasty," said Deborah Wells, who spent her lunch break slouched in a shadow cast by a concrete statue near the park. Along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, workers in sweat-darkened shirts paused in front of stores with open doors, savoring the escaping air conditioning.
Consolidated Edison and the Long Island Power Authority issued heat alerts urging New Yorkers to conserve power. Among other things, they suggested setting thermostats at 78 degrees and turning off idle appliances. The Long Island supplier said it expected peak demand of 4,850 megawatts for the day, dangerously close to its 5,576-megawatt limit. The New York Power Authority activated an energy-saving plan that offered customers money in exchange for pledges to save power.
The National Weather Service said it expected the heat wave to hold for at least two more days, with high temperatures slightly cooler but still well into the 90s. The only hope for relief was a cold front expected to sweep through by Friday. But meteorologist Peter Wichrowski said the system was relatively puny and probably would drop highs only into the upper 80s. "We don't see any major relief in sight through the weekend," he said. "Once this moves through, it won't seem like a drastic change."
Death toll rises to at least 74 as floods inundate Russia, Western Europe...
VIENNA, Austria, Aug. 12 — Europe's flooding death toll swelled to at least 74 on Monday as torrential rains unleashed raging waters that swept away Russian tourists, triggered landslides in Germany and Switzerland and shut down shipping on the Danube River in Austria.
Russia was by far the hardest-hit area, with at least 58 deaths. Giant cranes
hoisted ruined cars and other debris out of the Black Sea on Monday, and cleanup
crews scoured coastal beaches in search of more bodies.
Thousands of Russian tourists who had descended on the Black Sea Coast
for their summer vacations were caught in the surprise flooding. Many remain
stranded, their cars swept out to sea by a wall of water that came rushing down
from the mountains.
As many as 4,000 tourists were still trapped in Shirokaya Balka, a scenic
coastal village that was devastated by the flooding, the Interfax news agency
reported.
An investigative team was being formed to examine all the deaths for
possible criminal charges, prosecutor Nikolai Buzko told the ITAR-Tass news
agency. The team was also examining why some buildings had been erected in areas
where development is prohibited because of erosion and flooding concerns.
Austria saw its first three casualties in more than a week of
unprecedented flooding. Two were in hard-hit towns in Salzburg province, where a
firefighter was swept away by a churning river in Mariapfarr. Also a man's body
was found floating in a flooded cellar in Hallein. The third was a 48-year-old
man who was crushed in a landslide near the village of Kirchheim in Upper
Austria province.
''The scene is catastrophic,'' Wilfried Weissgaerber, the national fire
brigade commander for the province of Lower Austria, told Austrian radio as he
described collapsed houses and washed-out railway tracks.
In Germany, a police officer died after her car wnet out of control and
turned over late Sunday night on the way to Wismar on the Baltic Sea coast, and
a 68-year-old woman died of exhaustion while trying to clear her flooded
basement in Dresden. Near the city of Jena, another driver was killed in an
accident that injured nine others, officials said.
Authorities in Thuringia state issued a flood alert for the Pleisse
River, which broke its banks. Firefighters stacked 30,000 sandbags to protect
houses from the rising water, and hundreds of German soldiers were helping
residents reinforce riverbanks in other critical areas.
In the north, a train derailed near Hamburg after running into a mudslide
caused by the rain. No one was injured, though the conductor and a passenger
were treated for shock.
In northern Italy, where unusually heavy rain and hail ravaged
grapevines, fruit, olives, tobacco and other crops last week, the nation's
largest agriculture group estimated the damage at about $300 million. Premier
Silvio Berlusconi approved $50 million in emergency aid Monday.
In the Czech Republic, thousands of people fled their homes Monday after
several rivers overflowed their banks. In Radotin, a small town west of Prague,
a 55-year-old man drowned in the swollen Vltava River, raising the death toll in
that country to seven.
Prime Minister Vladimir Spidla declared a state of emergency in Prague
and the regions of Bohemia, Plzen and Karlovy Vary. Authorities feared the
Vltava could flood some areas of Prague, including the famous Kampa island,
known for its architecture, and a zoo on the outskirts of the Czech capital.
Some animals were moved to higher ground as a precaution.
About 100 patients in a Prague hospital in the flood zone were evacuated
Monday. Workers were moving books and important documents to higher floors in
buildings that house the National Library and the Czech Senate.
In eastern Switzerland, torrential rains caused a series of small
landslides, including one that cut off a rail line between Chur and Arosa.
Another on the Griesalp mountain in central Switzerland swept away a bridge,
stranding more than 150 people until an emergency span could be put in place.
Austrian authorities used helicopters to rescue stranded homeowners from
rooftops in Linz, about 120 miles west of Vienna, and 4,000 soldiers joined
sandbagging operations Monday in the waterlogged provinces of Lower Austria and
Upper Austria.
Water levels in the Danube River, which flows through Vienna, were being
monitored anxiously. Austria's navigation authority halted all shipping on the
Danube Monday as water levels neared 100-year highs, spokesman Reinhard
Vorderwinkler said.
In Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart, the sightseeing boat Amadeus sank
Monday after being swamped in the flood-swollen Salzach River. There were no
injuries.
Police in the scenic Danube town of Krems, meanwhile, said there were
reports of evacuated homes being looted.

When you pass through this crisis many will be cleansed! Understand, My
children, that science (scientists) cannot strive above the laws of His God.
"Keep your monuments (statues, etc.) in your homes. Pray that the devil
remains (away) from your home, and you will be saved. Your country will be
cleansed by trial; and should this not bring you back, you will be led to your
own baptism of fire! I BEG OF YOU NOW, ATONEMENT AND SACRIFICE. I have little
time to wander further throughout earth now. I have come here, an oasis in a
barren land, to this seat of evil, Babylon. But, My children, I know within this
city of evil there are many who can rise above it and reach out and save their

Great Heat to come soon . . .
Jesus - "My Mother has directed you well through this
stage of man's progressing towards sanctity. However, you must remember this:
words were given, and actions have taken place. Our Lady told you several years
ago that there would be great floods, and there were great floods; that there
would be a great heat, and that will come soon; and after that there will be a
great plague. You had a plague now, My children - two diseases unknown in cure
for mankind. Did not My Mother, pass along to you that knowledge that there
would be diseases that your scientists will not be able to explain nor stop?
They will find not cure for it.
"Now, My children, I tell you this: I do not wish to come to you as a
visitor with dire warnings, but the object of My coming is to warn you that you
may do something and correct the evil that has been perpetrated by the few.
Droughts, famine, rotting crops, hurricanes, floods . . .
Michael - "Hasten, harken, and listen to the words of
warning to a generation that has become perverse, degraded - and abominations
committed to offend your God. In justice and for penance, there will be visited
upon your earth great trials - droughts, famine, rotting crops, hurricanes,
floods, all manner of earth tremors and disturbances of nature, increasing in
volume, spreading throughout your world. There will be eruptions and
manifestations that shall bring terror to the hearts of many, in places that
have never seen nor heard of such volume of sound and fierce eruptions of the
earth.
"Be ye warned that houses will blow in the wind, and skin will dry up and
blow off the bones as if it had never been. Eyes will see and still not believe,
so hardened are the hearts of mankind.
"The warnings, the numerous warnings that have been given to mankind have
gone by unnoticed, and man continues upon his road to his own destruction. Sins
of the flesh have multiplied, and many souls are falling fast into the abyss,
their eternal reward being damnation in hell." (8-21-76)
Devastating plague within six months . . .
"There will be one more most devastating plague upon you. That will come
within the next six months, My children. You ask, My child, why is this allowed?
My child, you have forgotten the real reason for all this: man will benefit from
it in the end. For I once said to you many years ago that penance is difficult,
but after penance there is a great joy." 6-18-83)
Floods . . . Pestilence . . .
Our Lady - "My children, unless you pray more, unless
you do penance and acts of atonement now, I cannot hold back the punishment, the
Chastisement from mankind any longer. As your days proceed, evil is accelerating
and the chastisement, minor and major, shall increase. There will be earthquakes
in divers places; there will be floods and pestilence, and there will be the
eruption of the elements. My children, My counsel to you shall all come to
pass." (6-4-77)
As in the times of the flood . . .
Jesus - "Woe, Woe, Woe to the inhabitants of the earth!
Your times are such as have never been seen in the times of mankind. You sin in
a manner far more foul than in the times of Sodom and Gomorrah. And whatever
shall become of you? As in the times of the flood, the world was cleansed. You
shall receive a baptism of fire." (11-1-75)
St. Michael - "Listen well and repeat my words. Woe, woe to
man of earth. He calls down upon himself a just punishment for the abominations
he commits in his heart and the abominations in the sacred Temples of God. Wars,
famine, flood, cataclysm, and the Ball of Redemption, know that in this order
man shall be cleansed." (5-30-74)
Higher power working at this time to bring you to your knees . . .
Our Lady - "Mothers, and fathers too, have gone astray
in these dark days. Materialism has replaced spiritualism, and that is why the
many catastrophes are being allowed upon your earth. There will be more floods
with death; more volcano eruptions with death; more accidents that are not
accidents; until you will surely come to your senses and realize that there is a
higher power working at this time to bring you to your knees." (6-18-86)
The Father has sent you many warnings . . .
Our Lady - "Many peoples must unite to stop the
slaughter of the Holy Innocents! Your God commands you with a strong hand! You
and your conduct are being tolerated only because of the elect at this moment.
Already the Father has sent you many warnings which you fail to recognize."

All of the floods, and all of the droughts shall continue . . .
Our Lady - "I have traveled throughout your world
through countless earth - years warning you that you are approaching a most
terrible punishment. And how can we stop this now? It has progressed and is too
late to be stopped.
"O My children, I know there are many that cry with Me. I go about the world
now with tears constantly flowing upon My children. My tears shall not stop, for
I know now that all of the cataclysms, and all of the floods, and all of the
droughts shall continue. Mankind must be awakened from their slumbers, for they
shall be punished in a way far worse than the human mind could comprehend.
"I tried to warn you, My children, that there is great talk, talk, and
action going on now throughout your country, but the talks will get you nowhere,
for they do not talk of the Eternal Father. They talk of peace, peace, upon
earth where there is no peace. There shall never be peace without your God. No
man is a god, and as such he shall not make himself a god in the eyes of others.
"O My children, I beg you, as your Mother, to listen to Me. My voice grows
weak. I have raised up other voice - boxes throughout the world now to try to
reach those who have not deafened their ears to Our pleas. We ask you all to
keep a constant vigilance of prayer going throughout your country and the
world." (6-30-84)
Floods shall rage in the fore . . .
In the days ahead, for the future is now, My children, many will come
over the veil. Many shall be taken from the world in the plan of the Eternal
Father.
"A gradual cleansing by trial shall be set upon mankind. The elements shall
be used to bring great changes upon earth. They will not only be beneficial, My
children. Floods shall rage in the fore, My children. The atmosphere shall burn
in this near future because man has set himself among the stars and has gone too
high in his pursuits.
"O My children, how many earth - years have I traveled among you crying to
you as your Mother to come back now from the wide road that you have chosen, a
road that will take you only to the abyss and banishment and damnation."

Evil floods your country . . .
Our Lady - "Man is slowly reducing his nature to that
of animals. Sin has become a way of life; pagan living, licentious debauchery,
all manner of sin and evil floods your country and the countries of earth. How
long do you think the Eternal Father shall tolerate this conduct?" (9-27-75)
Why is man calling down upon himself many chastisements?
Our Lady - "My children, the homes, the refuge for
children, whatever shall become of your family life? Parents have turned from
their roles as parents, giving themselves over to pleasures of the flesh -
pleasure - seeking, feeding themselves with all manner of corruptive influences
while the soul is starving.
"My children, why do you not recognize the signs of your times? Why is man,
in his blindness, calling down upon himself many chastisements? Floods,
earthquakes, famines, plagues, until all shall be cleansed by the Ball of
Redemption!" (7-25-77)
Floods, famines, sin, impurity, immorality . . .
Jesus - "There will be much woe set upon the earth by
666: accidents that are not accidents, floods, famines, sin, impurity,
immorality. My child, you will go about your earth - My children, you will all
go about your earth wondering if mass insanity has set upon mankind. Oh, yes, My
children, sin is surely insanity. As time accelerates and becomes an era of
evil, My children, many will feel that life has reversed itself, for the good
will be persecuted and the evil shall be glorified. As it was in the time of
Noah and Sodom, so it is now, but the evils are far worse and more
sophisticated. But as it was in those days, My children, so it will be now. The
Chastisement is fast approaching upon mankind. Do not slow or slacken the pace
of your work because of scoffers. I assure you, My children, even the scoffers
will one day recognize the truth but too late." (4-9-77)
Satan has control of the elements . . .
Our Lady - "In My counsels of the past, My children, I
have told you many times that satan has control of the elements. There will be
accidents that are not accidents, disturbances of nature claiming many live:
floods, tornadoes. My children, are you ready to face this crisis?" (2-10-78)
You bring upon yourselves this chastisement . . .
Michael - "Because of the great abominations in your
country and in many countries throughout the world, you shall be cleansed by
trial. Floods, death, destruction - you bring upon yourselves this chastisement.
Great heat and the plague." (3-18-83)
Hurricanes, whirlwinds, floods, great heat and plagues upon mankind . . .
Our Lady - "My child and My children, I have wandered
with great speed to and fro across you earth gathering My children who will
listen to Me in the last stages of My pleadings to mankind. Yes, My children, I
say the last stages, because you are fast approaching the close of your era.
"O My children, if you only realized and acted upon My counsel! If you only
realized what is coming fast upon you! Be it known to you in the past that there
will be many eruptions of nature resulting in hurricanes, whirlwinds, floods,
great heat and plagues upon mankind." (4-1-78)
There is a most terrible calamity approaching mankind . . .
Our Lady - "My child, the example given by Theresa and
all who have given their lives in vocations, this example must be returned to My
Son's Church. Because you do not pray enough; My children, because you have
given yourselves to sins of the flesh, many wars have descended upon you, many
trials of earthquakes and floods and great heat have come upon you. My children,
there is a most terrible calamity approaching mankind, and I beg you, as your
Mother, to avoid this, to get down now upon your knees and do penance,
atonement, and sacrifice to the Eternal Father Who has already been offended too
much." (10-2-76)
Warnings gone by unnoticed . . .
"My child, many exhortations and warnings have been given to mankind.
You must go forward and refresh their memories. Many have forgotten the warnings
from Heaven, for they go about saying, 'Where is the promise of His coming, and
where are the warnings that you speak of and write of?"
"O My children, you are truly blind! These warnings have been given for time,
and an extension of time to mankind before the major catastrophe shall be sent
upon you, the baptism of fire. You have received these warnings that have gone
by unnoticed: floods, hurricanes, fires, disasters, accidents that are not
accidents, earthquakes in places that have never experienced such terror before.
How many warnings must the Eternal Father send upon mankind before they will
awaken and do penance?
"Prayer, atonement, and sacrifice, My children - is this too much to ask of
you, in the realization of what you are going to pass through?" (9-28-76)
I can't see whose hand it is . . .
Veronica - Now above the - above the flagpole is
appearing letters: "Floods," F- L - O - O - D - S, "great heat and the plague."
Then there's a large, now I see a hand, a large hand. The five fingers are like
this, and it's waving it's hand across the sky, like this. I can't see whose
hand it is, but the hand is very lighted. I fear it is - yes, it is Jesus! Oh,
He's standing there now with His hand out, like this, and I can see the wounds
in His hand. Now He's extending His other hand out like this. Oh, and as I
watch, there is blood coming from His hands, flowing down now upon the world.

Our Lady - "My child and My children, do not be
affrighted by My words. The world shall not come to an end. The Eternal Father
has given His promise to mankind, that the world shall never be made extinct
again, as in the past with the time of the floods. However, your world shall be
cleansed with a baptism of fire. Only a few, in the multitudes upon earth, shall
be saved. You have been asked to make a choice between the Cross and the
Serpent. And this choice has also been asked of the clergy in My Son's House,
His Church upon earth." (10-2-79)

Our Lady - "My child and My children, I have counseled you on the
approaching plague among children because of the sin of man, this cannot be
avoided, this cannot be held back, My child." (6-18-81)
Plague to claim many Children...
Our Lady - "There will be visited upon your country a plague! Many children
will be taken from your world. It will be an act of mercy from the Father. Many
young souls will be destined for the kingdom of hell, claimed by Lucifer, were
they to remain upon earth." (2-1-73)
Many children will die...
Our Lady - "There will be visited upon your country and the world a great
plague. Many children will die in this cleansing. Young souls rescued from the
contamination of a world that has given itself to satan!" (3-18-73)
