North Korean Dictator Kim Jong il Ups the Ante in Game of Nuclear
Brinkmanship...
Veronica - Now Our Lady is pointing over to Her right
side, the left side of the sky. And I see a very large ball forming. It looks
like a globe of the world; but strangely it has a, like a wick on the top.
And now coming out of the sky, I see a very comical-looking figure.
I think he's comical; then again he's kind of frightening. His face is extremely
fat, and his teeth are huge. But he looks like an Oriental of some kind. He's
smiling in a very strange way. I notice he hashe's
short and has like a stubby type of body. But he's grinning in a very
evil-looking way. As he stands with his hands behind him, he's looking about now
and it looks as though he's waiting for something. Oh, my goodness!
Now he's bringing out from behind his back what appears to be a long
tapered candle. And he's reaching up now. The candle has a light on it; it
looks like he's about to touch the wick on the bomb. It looks like a bomb, but
it looks like the world with a wick sticking out of it. Oh, my goodness!
He's a verydon't
know who he is; I don't recognize him. But he's an Oriental and has very large
teeth; and the grin, even, the way he's grinning makes his teeth verykind
of prominent. But he hasI
must say he gives you a feeling of fright because his smile is very evil. Now I
can't see him. It's as though a veil is being placed over the scene.
Now Our Lady is moving over closer to our left side, Her right side.
Our Lady - "My child and My children, I have given you now sight of
what is to be soon. You will understand in the near future, My children. And
you, My child, will not reveal the writing beneath it. Look now, remember, but
do not repeat.
[Pause]
"Remember, My child: Look, remember, but do not repeat." (July
25, 1979)
Veronica
- And there he is again, that terrible-looking man. I don't know who he is, but
he has an Oriental appearance. I can see now what appears to be a globe, a
globe of the world, but you could almost picture it as a bomb because it has a
wick on the top of it.
Now overstanding
next to it, gloatingly, with a most satanic-looking, evil smile on his face, a
smile so big that his teeth are extended, and they look very large in his mouth,
almost exaggeratedhe is a
short man, quite husky. He's in some kind of a uniform that I don't recognize.
It'slooks like an olive
green color.
And now he's standing there as though he's gloating over something,
and he's taking his hand now from behind his back again and holding out his long
tapered candle. He has a very thin, long tapered candle that's lighted, and
now he's reaching over again to light the wick, as thoughI
do believe it must indicate starting perhaps a, a terrible war or something.
I get that impression from his uniform and the fact he's lighting the wick upon
the world. (August
4, 1979)
By detonating a nuclear explosion last week, North Korea's erratic leader, Kim Jong Il, has again shown his determination to play high-stakes geopolitical poker in his efforts to blackmail other countries into making concessions to his hard-pressed regime. The day after the May 25 nuclear explosion, Kim also tested two missiles, obviously intended to further up the ante in his latest brinkmanship.
While many governments, particularly the U.S. and South Korea, are accustomed to Kim's tactics, the fact he would deliberately set off yet another nuclear detonation following the one of 2006, and the international uproar caused by his rocket launch of April, has raised the stakes for everybody. Not surprisingly, the nuclear explosion was quickly denounced by the U.S. and North Korea's immediate neighbors. Even Pyongyang's sole ostensible ally, China, joined the condemnation, something it resisted doing following last month's rocket launching, which many countries described as a thinly concealed test of its long-range Taepodong-2 missile, a missile supposedly intended to reach as far as Alaska and the west coast of North America.Last week's nuclear test registered a 4.7-magnitude tremor, much higher than the test of 2006, which registered 3.58 on the Richter scale. The 2006 nuclear explosion was instrumental in convincing the U.S., Japan, South Korea, Russia and China to restart multilateral negotiations with North Korea to end its nuclear and missile programs.
The shock of the 2006 test subsequently persuaded the Bush administration to negotiate directly with North Korea -- a step Washington had previously resisted, but which had been North Korea's goal for several years. Washington saw its decision to deal directly with Pyongyang as necessary to end the threat posed by North Korea's nuclear weapons, including the possibility such weapons could end up in the hands of other dubious states or radical movements in world hot spotsThe shock of the 2006 test subsequently persuaded the Bush administration to negotiate directly with North Korea -- a step Washington had previously resisted, but which had been North Korea's goal for several years. Washington saw its decision to deal directly with Pyongyang as necessary to end the threat posed by North Korea's nuclear weapons, including the possibility such weapons could end up in the hands of other dubious states or radical movements in world hot spots. Although the recent nuclear detonation has sent shockwaves beyond the habitually tense Korean Peninsula, it came as no real surprise.
Pyongyang had already threatened such action if the UN Security Council did not apologize for condemning its long-range missile launch of April 5. It explicitly stated it would test another nuclear device if no apology materialized. Some cynics saw such threats as simply a pretext for carrying out further tests. Many analysts regard the present tension as Pyongyang's latest blackmail attempt to extract more aid and other concessions, especially from the U.S. But others are puzzled by the seemingly intractable position now adopted by Kim. Interestingly, last week's explosion irritated North Korea's erstwhile ally, China. This is highly risky, since Pyongyang has had to count on Beijing's aid in recent years for energy supplies and other assistance when the Americans stopped providing promised crude oil shipments because of North Korea's failure to meet its own commitments to the U.S.

Your names have been written in Heaven "It is not by accident that you are called by My Mother, for your names have been written in Heaven.... But with this great grace you have great responsibility to send this Message from Heaven throughout the world, for if you are able to recover just one more for Heaven, an additional star shall be placed in your crown." - Jesus, August 5, 1975
A great obligation to go forward... "It is not by accident that you are called by My Mother, for it is by merit and the prayers that have risen to Heaven for your salvation. For those who have received the grace to hear the Message from Heaven, you have a great obligation to go forward and bring this Message to your brothers and sisters. Do not expect a rest upon your earth, for you will have eternal rest very soon." - Jesus, June 12, 1976
The sin of omission... "The sin of omission shall condemn many to hell, be they layman or Hierarchy. I repeat: not the sin of commission, but the sin of omission will commit many to hell." Our Lady of the Roses, October 6, 1980
