Catholic Charities to Honor, Fr. Theodore Hesburgh, Architect of Notorious ‘Land O’Lakes’ Statement...

Cardinal Newman Society reported on March 29, 2011:
On Sunday, Catholic Charities USA announced its plan to present an award celebrating the organization’s 100-year anniversary to University of Notre Dame President Emeritus, Fr. Theodore Hesburgh.
In a quote from Catholic Charities President Rev. Larry Snyder, it appears that Fr. Hesburgh is in part being honored for his “devotion to education and service to his church – exemplified by his unparalleled 35 years as President of Notre Dame.” Fr. Snyder again makes reference to Fr. Hesburgh as a “remarkable academic… leader”.
It should be noted that Fr. Hesburgh is one of the architects of the notorious ”Land O’Lakes Statement” from 1967, in which Catholic colleges and universities declared their independence from all authority outside of the institution itself, including the Catholic Church.
Also, as WNDU.com reported, it should be noted that Fr. Hesburgh supported Notre Dame’s decision to invite President Obama for the controversial 2009 commencement.
And almost exactly one year ago, Los Angeles Times reported that in the hours leading up to the vote on the Obama administration’s healthcare overhaul legislation, which the U.S. bishops opposed because of abortion provisions, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi turned to Fr. Hesburgh “to help lock up the vote of Rep. Joe Donnelly, a Democrat from South Bend, Ind., who was wavering over the abortion issue.”
WRITER'S COMMENTS: Fr. Theodore Hesburgh was on United Nations commissions, a friend of notorious atheist Saul Alinsky, a friend of the Rockefellers, and many more liberal connections and New World Order causes. Pray for him.
