Former Israeli Mayor Publishes New Book on ‘Islamic Tsunami’...

David Rubin is not only Shiloh's former Mayor, but also an expert on terrorism in Israel -- himself and his son having been victims of a horrific terrorist attack by Muslim extremists.

Rubin is the founder of a ministry which focuses on the trauma of children who have been victims of terrorism. He also has a heart for the return of Jews to the land of Israel and for Israel’s restoration.

The mission of the ministry Rubin started, called Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund is to ease the trauma of terrorism in children and rebuild the Biblical heartland of Israel.

The organization was established by Rubin and friends of Israel in the U.S. to support therapeutic, educational and recreational projects for children in Israel -- particularly in the Shiloh bloc of communities where the children have suffered from the terrorism of the past few years.

He was asked why he wrote this new book, entitled "The Islamic Tsunami: Israel and America in The Age Of Obama”?

“Several issues very much concern me: The obvious (to me at least) efforts of the Islamic ideologues to take over Western society and to destroy Judeo-Christian Civilization; the apparent lack of awareness and/or apathy or helplessness of the American (and European) populations in light of this threat; the ignorance in the West about the roots of Islam; a similar ignorance about the biblical roots of America; [and] the ignorance about Israel's role in the world and its ability to spread light from Zion.”

Rubin said his main premise is that the basic tenets of Judeo-Christian civilization are under dual Islamic attack from terrorism as well as from non-violent aggression -- demography, media assault, legal steps, and education.

“Together, in a strange informal alliance with the secular Left forces of moral relativism, the ‘Islamic tsunami’ is rapidly overtaking Europe and threatening America,” he said.

“I provide concrete examples of all of these, with documentation. The problem is not just Islamic terrorism, but Islam itself, which preaches violence against those who don't accept its tenets and condones and even justifies abuse of women and children. This goes all the way back to the founder of Islam, Muhammad, who was himself intolerant and abusive, traits that sharply conflict with American values.”

Rubin explained: “I quote extensively from the Koran, as well as from the Bible to contrast the non-coercive Jewish approach towards those who disagree with us, with the Islamic doctrine. I also explore the often evangelizing Christian approach and point out that even though some of the worst persecutions against my people were carried out by the Christian world in Europe (Spain, Russia, Poland, and Germany), Jesus (as opposed to Muhammad) was a Jew who never had preached violence.

“That philosophy of peaceful dialogue with those who have differing beliefs has become the norm in the West, and especially in America. I cite several examples from my own experiences with Christians to illustrate that. The Islamic approach runs counter to that tolerance.”

Rubin stated that Israel, as God's chosen nation, and as the primary target of Islamic terrorism, is uniquely situated to provide leadership to counter the Islamic threat.

Rubin said: “America, as well, being a great country that was founded on biblical foundations (many examples of this are provided as well, such as the first president of Harvard being a Hebrew scholar and the Founding Fathers of the USA using biblical imagery at the Constitution Congress) may be the greatest obstacle to the ‘Islamic tsunami’, but it will only be able to meet the challenge if it rediscovers its biblical roots and stands together with Israel.

ANS asked Rubin what he hoped to achieve through publishing his latest book?

He responded: “Opening eyes to the bigger picture, building courage and the belief that some things are worth fighting for, and re-creating a sense of American pride in its biblical roots, as well as strengthening its ‘up and down’ relationship with Israel.

“Only by strengthening that biblical partnership will the two countries be able to counter the Islamic tsunami.”

On the question about why the book is necessary or important, Rubin stated: “Quite a few books have been written about the Islamic threat, Islamic terrorism, about Israel, and about America's biblical foundations. No books have covered all of those topics in one topical and news-worthy book.”

Rubin went on to say: “Christians who reject replacement theology (the absurd concept that says that God changed His mind about Israel), or want to know more about their relationship to Israel, should read this book.

“As it says in Genesis 12, the blessings will come through Israel and the very real threat to the Christian world from Islam can best be countered by forming a brave alliance with Israel.”

Rubin concluded: “The time has come to stand up unapologetically for Judeo-Christian civilization. No tolerant and free society has a responsibility to self-destruct under pressure from those who want to use that very tolerance and freedom to destroy it.

“Nazi Germany was a very real precedent that we need to learn from,” he said.
