Pope Benedict: “Find Moments to Talk with God, Especially on Holiday”...

My brothers and sisters, the Holy Sacrifice cannot be done in thirty minutes, or even in sixty minutes, properly. Vatican Insider reported on August 8, 2012:

“At the origin of witnessing to the faith, which every Christian should give in the family, at work, in society, and even in moments of relaxation, is prayer, a personal contact with God; only this real relationship with God gives us the strength to live every event, especially the most suffered moments, intensely”. These were the pope’s words during the general audience in Castel Gandolfo, with an audience of about one thousand and five hundred faithful.

Down in the courtyard of this apostolic palace in Castel Gandolfo, a town in Lazio, Benedict XVI carried on talking about prayer, inspired by the teachings of St. Dominic de Guzmán. Ratzinger also highlighted the “the importance of external attitudes in our prayers” . He mentioned kneeling and fixing the gaze of the Crucifix. These attitudes, said the pope theologian are “not a secondary act, but help to us to place ourselves, our whole person, in relation to God”.

The pope said that Dominic de Guzman was an example of harmonious integration of contemplation of the divine mysteries and apostolic activity."

Benedict XVI urged people to pray as it is fundamental for spiritual life, even on holiday. He exhorted people to “take some time to have a conversation with God". He added that it will also be a way to help those around us "to enter into the shining light of God’s presence which leads to the peace and love that we all we need. "
