Only one Catholic seminary remains in Ireland…

"Therefore, I warn you now as your God: You will stop your intricacies within My Church. You will stop experimenting. I gave you the rules to follow many years ago, two thousand years approximately. And why now, two thousand years later, do you deem it necessary to change My Church upon earth? I, your God, say to you, you will be judged accordingly. You will return My Church to its former glory, and in that manner you will have more vocations and more entering the seminaries, and not fleeing from them as they hear the heresies and all other innovations that are going on within My Church. An article in the Boston Globe (August 30, 2002) reports:

The Roman Catholic Church in Ireland, whose network of theological schools once exported priests worldwide, closed another institution yesterday, leaving just one seminary in this predominantly Catholic country.
The directors of St. Patrick’s College in Thurles, country Tipperary in southwest Ireland, said that their few remaining seminarians would transfer to the church’s principal seminary, Maynooth College near Dublin, which is struggling to educate enough priests for the next generation of Irish Catholics.
The closing of St. Patrick’s, along with others, is indicative of a declining observance of the Catholic faith in Ireland and growing public anger at church authorities’ response to decades of sexual abuse within the church.
