News on Nicaragua: communist Sandinistas expected to win next presidential election

"My child, let the world know that Nicaragua is a center point for the capitulation of the United States of America and Canada. Already there are plans afoot, and in the making, with missiles and all dire instruments of destruction. These plans are being formulated from Nicaragua, to go into Mexico, and thereupon into the United States." - Our Lady, June 18, 1987

TLDM has received information indicating that the last elected Mayor of Nicaragua is a Sandinista, a communist. In two years time there will be presidential elections in Nicaragua and it is ALREADY believed that the Sandinistas will win. Could this be a prelude to Our Lady of the Roses warning about communist forces invading the USA from Nicaragua through Mexico? Below is a translation from a Guatemalan newspaper, telling of other developments in Nicaragua.

Nicaragua
During the Iran-Contra hearings, the Defense Intelligence Agency revealed that by 1985 the Nicaraguan military was at an all-time high of 62,000. The Nicaraguan government had more forces than the rest of Central America combined, not including the presence of Soviet, Cuban, and PLO advisers.
A 10,500 foot airstrip with six foot deep runways that can accommodate the most deadly Soviet bombers is now completely built at Punta Huete in Nicaragua. This airstrip is already fortified as a military installation. Anti-aircraft batteries and surface-to-air missiles are already in place.
The final plans for the invasion of North America are now being made. Thomas Borge, the Interior Minister of Nicaragua said: "We have Nicaragua, soon we will have El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Mexico. One day, tomorrow or five years or fifteen years from now, we're going to take 5 to 10 million Mexicans and they are going into Dallas, into El Paso, into Houston, into New Mexico, into San Diego, and each one will have embedded in his mind the idea of killing ten Americans." Headline: The Vatican is considering forgiving the Sandinistas. Daniel Ortega last Saturday asked for this in a public meeting.

The ex-president of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, last Saturday made a public plea of forgiveness to the Catholic Church on behalf of the National Liberation Party Sandinista Front. It will be taken to the Vatican by the Apostolic Nuncio.
     The Chargé d’Affairs of the Apostolic Nuncio, Msgr. Francisco César García Magán, told the press that the Holy See would receive a petition of forgiveness.
     ”If there is such an act, it is necessary to give the presupposed motive of the veracity. It is necessary to have a presumptuous of the truth and of the good faith involved of the persons who say it.”, he added.
     During the celebration of the 24th. anniversary of the Popular Sandinista Revolution, Ortega asked forgiveness of the Catholic Church and of the bishops “for the errors that we might have committed” during his 10-year government.
     Ortega said that the offenses were due to: our deep love for Nicaragua, (our effort to) defend its sovereignty, to the love of the poor, the field workers and the homeless.
     For the first time in 24 years, last Saturday, a high dignitary of the Catholic Church, the Vicar of the Curia of Managua, Msgr. Eddy Montenegro, attended the Sandinista celebration.
     Montenegro made a public plea to “forget the past and construct the present”.
     On the eve, Ortega informed Cardinal Miguel Obando that he would publicly ask forgiveness to the Church and the bishops. The Archbishop corresponded by sending Msgr. Montenegro to the Sandinista celebration.
     During his government (1979-1990), Ortega expelled 18 priests from the country and his security forces exposed the naked body of the ex-Curia spokesman, Msgr. Bismarck Carballo.
     During Pope John Paul II’s visit to Nicaragua in 1983, the Sandinistas boycotted his speech, while thousands of followers offended him. The Pope called the ten years of the Sandinista government a “dark night”.
     In the elections of 1996, a message given by Obando, referring to the Sandinistas as a dying snake that could bite could have influenced in Ortega’s defeat to Alemán, according to experts.
