“90% of our abortions are from Texas.” The abortion worker claimed.
A shocking undercover investigation is raising serious concerns about the safety of young girls and the role abortion facilities may play in covering up abuse. In this case, a man posing as the uncle of a 14-year-old girl approached staff at a New Mexico abortion facility, asking how to obtain an abortion for the minor without parental consent.
According to the report, staff did not question the situation or raise concerns about possible abuse. They did not verify the man’s relationship to the girl or pause to consider whether the circumstances pointed to something more troubling. Instead, they moved forward with providing information on how to obtain an abortion.
“The minute this man came in asking how to get an abortion for a 14-year-old minor, any legitimate healthcare staff would have recognized a possible red flag,” says Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “But these abortion workers not only explained how to circumvent Texas abortion laws, including parental consent, they also readily explained how to get all the costs covered, including the cost of the abortion, travel, and hotel. This dump is a human trafficker’s dream come true.”
Even more concerning, staff told the man, “We go up to 34 weeks… so technically there is almost no deadline.”
The undercover journalist behind the investigation posed as a man seeking to bring his pregnant 14-year-old niece across state lines for an abortion. Despite the alarming nature of the request, staff showed no hesitation.
This raises a serious question: what responsible adult would seek to take a young girl—someone else’s daughter—out of state for an abortion without her parents’ knowledge? The situation described in this investigation highlights the very real risk that abortion facilities can be used to hide abuse rather than report it.
It is important to note that taking a minor across state lines for an abortion without parental consent can be illegal. Yet, according to the undercover video, this was not communicated to the man during his interaction with staff.
Cases like this underscore a central concern of the Pro-Life movement: abortion does not just end the life of a baby in the womb, it can also enable exploitation by removing evidence of abuse and silencing vulnerable victims.
Rather than protecting young girls, situations like this suggest that some abortion providers may prioritize the money received from a patient over asking necessary questions that could uncover coercion or trafficking.
Every child—born and preborn—deserves protection. Laws that safeguard parental involvement and protect Life exist for a reason. When those safeguards are ignored or undermined, both mothers and their children are put at greater risk.
