The Muslim Brotherhood seeks to spread Islam all over the globe and to ensure, as Muhammad said, that "Islam is to dominate and not to be dominated." Egypt, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia have designated it as a terrorist group, and the United States has declared its intention to similarly designate two Brotherhood chapters. So what should we think of Abdul el-Sayed when the Muslim Brotherhood hails his slim victory over Haley Stevens, and El-Sayed does not reject the terror group’s support? A Muslim Brotherhood-linked publication celebrated Abdul El-Sayed’s victory in Michigan’s Democratic Senate primary last week, highlighting the candidate’s opposition to unconditional U.S. military aid to Israel and hailing his political ascendance as a setback for "Zionists."

The article, published Wednesday by Ikhwan Online, an outlet tied to the terrorist group, described El-Sayed’s victory over Rep. Haley Stevens as a setback for what it called "the Zionist occupation." The publication’s X account describes Ikhwan Online as the "Muslim Brotherhood official website," according to a report published by The Midwesterner and subsequently highlighted by the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

"During his election campaign, (El-Sayed) focused on calling for the cessation of unconditional U.S. military aid to the Zionist occupation, criticizing the continued U.S. support in the war on the Gaza [Strip] and demanding that taxpayers’ money be redirected to domestic issues," the article reads.

"The primary elections highlighted the escalation of the division within the Democratic Party on the US policy towards the occupation, in light of the growing influence of the Progressive Current, which demands a reconsideration of US military support, in exchange for the continuation of the traditional current in adopting positions in support of the occupation," the article continues….

What the article did not address was the fact that El-Sayed’s victory was not the landslide that had been widely predicted; in the end, El-Sayed won by a razor-thin margin of only 14,000 out of 1.5 million votes cast, or slightly less than 1%.

However, critics point out that El-Sayed maintains close ties to those with potential connections to terror organizations. Reporting from the Washington Free Beacon alleges that El-Sayed’s father in law, Tayeb Jukaku, serves on the board of the Council of American-Islamic Relations Michigan chapter and donated $300,000 to his campaign. CAIR was named as a co-conspirator in the USA v. Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development lawsuit. Politico noted in 2010 that "US District Court Judge Jorge Solis found that the government presented ‘ample evidence to establish the association’" of CAIR with the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

CAIR’s numerous links to Hamas, as District Judge Jorge Solis determined in the Holy Land Foundation trial, and El-Sayed’s link to CAIR through his financial supporter and father-in-law Tayeb Jukaku, who sits on the board of CAIR’s Michigan chapter, are certainly cause for alarm. But will the mainstream media be willing to investigate this matter, or will it hold back, for fear of being labelled "Islamophobic"?

Let’s not forget that El-Sayed defeated Haley Stevens by only one percentage point, and Republican incumbent Mike Rogers is likely to defeat him in November. The many Democrats who, horrified by El-Sayed’s primary win, now promise to vote Republican in the general election, will help Rogers.

Now Mike Rogers, already benefiting from the dismay thatDemocratic supporters express at El-Sayed’s virulent animus toward Israel, including his refusal to recognize the right of a Jewish state even to exist, has another matter to bring to the attention of voters. And that is El-Sayed’s connection, through his father-in-law, who financially supported his candidacy and sits on the board of the Michigan chapter of CAIR, to an organization that has many links to the Muslim Brotherhood. He needs to let voters know that the Muslim Brotherhood, a "designated terror group" in many countries, has been hailing the primary victory of El-Sayed in its publication, Ikhwan Online. How many Michigan voters will want to be in the same galère with El-Sayed, CAIR, and the Muslim Brotherhood?
