The 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks arrives with willful ignorance from the usual suspects — public schools and corporate media. It’s kind of like the 1619 Project for radical Islam.

In the shadow of Washington, D.C., where Islamic terrorists flew an American Airlines plane into the Pentagon, Fairfax County Public Schools is demanding its educators not bring up the fact that Islamic terrorists had anything to do with 9/11.

‘What Kind of Message Are You Sending?’

A six-page guidance letter advises teachers to "design instruction around your students’ needs and experiences" and refrain from "associat[ing] the 9/11 attacks with Islam or Muslims." Furthermore, the district guide admonishes teachers not to "center the extremists or the acts of the extremists," 7News, an Austin CBS affiliate, reported.

That’s like telling teachers not to emphasize the Germans’ role in World War II, or the Nazis’ part in the genocide of Jews. It would be like teaching students that the Soviet Union, Castro’s Cuba, and Chavez’s and Maduro’s Venezuela produced utopias. Oh, wait, that’s already in the curriculum.

The reeducation programs in leftist-led public schools like Fairfax are erasing history for the sake of feelings, for the sake of politics. They’re also erasing the 2,977 people killed by 19 Islamic jihadist hijackers. And the thousands more who died from 9/11-related illnesses. And the scarred and broken family and friends of the thousands murdered by terrorists bound by a twisted faith.

"What kind of message are you sending, especially to those children and those families who their parents were actually present during that tragedy, and then you’re just trying to sweep it under the rug or not include all the facts about it?" Stephanie Lundquist Arora, a Fairfax County parent and Federalist contributor, told 7News. "It’s adding insult to injury."

Thanks to reinvention indoctrination, Americans can anticipate Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri being known to public school graduates as "freedom fighters," just as the antisemitic, Palestine First college campus set have framed the barbarians of Hamas.

In Fairfax public schools, just like The New York Times, concern is reserved for the families who "worry about sending their children to school each September 11th because of increased incidents of harassment, violence, and hate crimes experienced by Muslim Americans."

What about the hate crimes committed against thousands of Americans on 9/11 by radical Islamists? What about the hate crimes committed against untold more — including Muslims — in Muslim countries by theocratic states enforcing Sharia Law? Those facts don’t appear to be in the Fairfax County Public Schools’ guidance.

‘That’s Our Biggest Fear’

Rep. Tom Tiffany, who represents Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District and is the Badger State’s GOP candidate for governor, is calling on his state to require its taxpayer-funded schools to include lessons on 9/11 — and the terrorists who caused it — in their curriculum.

"Twenty-five years ago, America was forever changed when terrorists attacked our country," Tiffany said Friday in a statement. "We must never forget the 2,977 innocent lives taken, the first responders who ran toward danger, the passengers of Flight 93 who fought back, and the Americans who answered the call to serve our country in the years that followed."

As The Associated Press reported, about one-third of Americans were born after Sept. 11, 2001. Many of them are ignorant about what happened that terrifying day. A majority of the states require or expect their public school systems to offer instruction on the terrorist attacks. Wisconsin is not one of them.

"Even worse than getting started wrong or using inappropriate language is the total omission of telling the story," Gordon Felt told teachers this summer during a Flight 93 National Memorial program in Pennsylvania, AP reported. "That’s our biggest fear." Felt’s brother Edward Felt died on United Airlines Flight 93 on Sept. 11,

It’s an understandable anxiety, particularly as some in corporate media attempt to take the terrorist out of 9/11.

‘The Hijackings Led to Passenger Jet Crashes’

Last month, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s "Senior Director of Journalistic Standards and Public Trust" fired off a memo instructing CBC staff not to refer to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks as terrorist attacks. Said senior director, Basem Boshra, instructed that journalists should write that "the hijackings led to passenger jet crashes in Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania and Manhattan. The World Trade Center (WTC in second reference) was destroyed. (The September 11 Digital Archive is an excellent resource for details about the attacks. It was created by several U.S. universities, historical societies and foundations.)"

After understandable outcry, the CBC issued follow-up guidance reversing its stance.

Rachael Thomas, Conservative shadow minister for Canadian Identity and Culture, issued a statement demanding the taxpayer-funded CBC fire Boshra. The CBC did not.

"Canadians deserve a public broadcaster that tells the truth: that terrorists attacked and murdered thousands of innocent people on 9/11 and they should have no difficulty saying so," Thomas wrote.
