St. Padre Pio Medal

VATICAN CITY, JUNE 16, 2002 - More than 300,000 people turned out for the canonization of Padre Pio the world-renowned Capuchin friar whom John Paul II praised for his prayer and charity.  "The new saint invites us to place God above all, and to consider him our sole and highest good," the Pope said during his homily at the ceremony.  Padre Pio, whose baptismal name was Francesco Forgione, died in 1968 at age 81.

Forming one of the largest crowds ever at the Vatican, pilgrims in St. Peter´s Square braved temperatures that reached 36 degrees Celsius (97 F). Tens of thousands more crowded into the Via della Conciliazione and nearby squares, following the liturgy on giant TV screens. Organizers distributed thousands of bottles of water.

At 10:25 a.m. the Pope, wearing white and gold vestments, pronounced in Latin, at times in a shaky voice, the formula with which he inscribed Padre Pio in the register of saints.

Padre Pio appeared sever times to Veronica in Lueken the Bayside Prophecies and therefore is a favorite saint of Bayside believers.  This beautiful 1" pewter oval medal of Padre Pio/ Pray for Us was made in Italy.  Suggested donation is 50 cents.

Your names have been written in Heaven… "It is not by accident that you are called by My Mother, for your names have been written in Heaven.... But with this great grace you have great responsibility to send this Message from Heaven throughout the world, for if you are able to recover just one more for Heaven, an additional star shall be placed in your crown." - Jesus, August 5, 1975

The sin of omission...  "You cannot slacken in your mission, My child and My children.  You will all go forward carrying even a heavy cross to the end of the road.  For those who are given great graces much is expected of them -- I will say, My child and My children, more is expected of them." Jesus, December 31, 1977
