Guatemala, July 12, 1990 Our Lady of the Roses Shrine Workers: Receive a cordial greeting in Our Lord. I am very happy,
and I thank God and the Blessed Virgin Mary for having allowed me to
visit and pray with you on the grounds of Flushing Meadows Park last
June 18th, on the occasion of the Twentieth Anniversary of Our Lady's
Apparitions at Bayside. I lived moments of profound prayer with you; I was very
moved with the solemn Rosary procession around the Vatican Pavilion
Site, but above all, I was deeply moved with the praying of the Holy
Rosary. I imagined it to be an enormous bonfire of love in the midst
of the rainy night. The devout murmuring of prayer of close to 5,000
persons was, without a doubt, pleasing to God, and must have brought
many blessings on the entire world. I went as a believer because for me it is sweet to
believe in the mysteries of God; and I feel that Our Lady of the
Roses' Apparitions at Bayside are one of those mysteries of God,
mysteries above all, of love. I have nothing to gain by doubting the communal prayer
that one lives at Bayside nor the messages which don't have anything
against the Holy Gospel; on the contrary, to me they sound like the
echo of what the Prophets preached, and of Jesus' own words: convert,
return to the way of the Gospel, do penance, pray constantly. As God chose the Virgin Mary to be His Mother, why shouldn't He choose her to be His Messenger through the XXth century which is about to end? I hope that man will be moved by Our Lady of the Roses' call, and thus re-find the ways to salvation.
