Veronica digging in the dirt at the original apparition site. She was told by Our Lady to kneel in the rain. The day being rainy, Veronica, dressed in protective plastic rainwear, kneels in the mud. She digs in the dirt and, gathering rosaries and rose petals from the pilgrims, buries then in the spot, the location of the promised spring of miraculous waters which will appear after the area has been purified. Following the Holy Hour, she returned the rosaries and rose petals to the pilgrims.
