(warning: graphic content) - A school district in Austin, Texas is reviewing a book it removed from its libraries after a mother attacked school board officials over the literature's graphic discussion of anal sex.
During a school board meeting Wednesday night, Kara Bell, a mother at Lake Travis Independent School District, read a sexually charged passage from Out of Darkness, written by Ashley Hope Pérez.
"The passage reads, 'Take her out back, we boys figured, then hand on the t****s, put it in her cornbox, put it in her cornhole, grab a hold of that braid, rub that calico,'" Bell announced to attendees.
Bell alleged the book was available in at least two of the district's middle schools.
The term "cornhole" was foreign to Bell, who furiously explained that she researched the Wikipedia definition of the term to discover its true sexual meaning.
"Not going to lie, I had to google 'cornhole' because I have the game in my backyard. But according to Wikipedia, 'cornhole' is a sexual slang vulgarism for anus. In verb form, 'to cornhole,' which came into usage in the 1930s, means to have anal sex," she declared.
A fiery Bell accused the school board of undermining its job of educating by pushing sexualization on the youth: "I do not want my children to learn about anal sex in middle school. You are not public health officials. You are supposed to be educating our children."
Officials did not seem happy with Bell; her microphone was cut off as she began her speech. Parents in attendance, however, began to clap for Bell after she was silenced. In spite of being located outside of Austin, one of Texas' most progressive cities, this school board meeting also had many anti-mask or anti-COVID vaccination complaints.
Even though the school board tried to muzzle Bell by silencing her microphone, her voice was definitely heard. The school district issued a statement to Fox News explaining how Out of Darkness has been removed from all its school libraries.
Texan mother trashes graphic school bookA spokesman of the Lake Travis district clarified, "A district may remove materials because they are pervasively vulgar or based solely upon the educational suitability of the books in question." He added the district is "presently researching how this particular title was introduced into our schools." But it's unclear how long this review process will take or what will truly come of it.
Exposure to Transgendersim, Grooming
This example is one of many issues that have angered parents nationwide. Many parents are concerned the public school system is effectively indoctrinating their children by pushing far-left agendas on them.
In 2020, a federal court in Florida ruled it's unconstitutional for schools to mandate which bathroom students can use. The ruling says "a public school may not punish its students for gender nonconformity," which allows any "transgender" student to use whichever bathroom they desire to.
And just a year ago, public schools like Maurice Sendak Community School, an elementary school in Brooklyn, New York, announced that a first-grade class would have a drag queen story hour (DQSH). The school described the event as "an effort to continue to strengthen and enhance inclusiveness and diversity in our schools." It further boasted that DQSH "has been a hit at the library and other local public schools."
It is distressing to many that publicly elected school officials want grown men wearing dresses and excessive amounts of makeup to help educate six- and seven-year-olds. Critics have called acclimating individuals to unnatural or unwelcome sexual practices a form of grooming, which prepares a targeted person for victimization.
Free Condoms for Little Children
While book passages graphically describing sodomy seem extreme, that barely compares to the Chicago public school system, which this year is supplying all students, even the prepubescent elementary school children, with condoms. Elementary schools will have 250 condoms in stock and high schools will each have 1,000 available. These contraceptives will be placed in public places, like hallways or bathrooms and are completely free for the taking. If the dispensary runs out, the school principal has been instructed to request more from the Chicago Department of Public Health.
With the radical Left using taxpayer money to push contraceptives, premarital sex, "transgenderism" and sodomy in public schools, it seems clear more parents like Kara Bell will need to directly confront their local school board to stem the tide.
