Fannie Mae Treu Passed Over the Veil on November 29, 2014.  Please Keep Her and Her Loved Ones in Your Prayers...

Mrs. Fannie Mae Treu worked at TLDM for about 18 years and gained many friends worldwide answering the phone and filling orders.  She was a hard worker and was very dedicated to Our Lady of the Roses and to her family.  I know she would want us all to pray that all of her family will be with her one day in Heaven.  Keep Fannie and her family in your prayers.

The picture to the right is Fannie leading the Rosary at a Our Lady of the Roses Shrine prayer vigil.

Here is one of our many cherished memories of Fannie.  The ministry's main server computer crashed and we worked on it for 2 or 3 days and could not get it to work. Fannie came in the computer room saying "Did you sprinkle Holy Water on it?"  No.  She came back and sprinkled Holy Water on the computer and it started working!  Now I know there are many people out there that have similar stories.

Here is Fannie's obituary:
Fannie Mae Cecilia Treu, age 91, of Lowell, formerly of Alto and Grand Rapids, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Fountain View of Lowell Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family following a long illness. She was born on December 27, 1922 in Sarasota, Florida, the daughter of Robert J. and Mary (Kaald) Belgau. She attended Sarasota area schools and continued her education in nursing studies in Tallahassee. She married Donald Treu on December 30, 1943 in Jacksonville Florida, and he preceded her in death in 1977. They moved to Illinois where they started their family and then the couple relocated to West Michigan when Donald’s work as a TWA pilot took them there. Fannie raised their 11 children, cared for their home and was constantly caring for others. She would pick up senior citizens and take them out to run their errands or go into their homes to assist them with cleaning or other chores and necessities. She dressed up all of the children and took them to nursing homes to sing for and visit with the residents.

She also worked outside the home for much of her life including waitressing, finishing upholstered seats for cars, and just prior to retirement, she was a Lab Technician in product development for AMWAY for just over 10 years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and seamstress work, creating beautiful decorated cakes for weddings or any occasion, and even raised chickens when the family lived in rural Dorr, Michigan. Fannie was a member of Holy Family Parish in Caledonia, was a person of deep faith and devoted much of her time to serving her church and her Parish families.

Fannie leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Donna Greenman of Kentwood, A. Stephen (Linda Kristensen) of Grand Rapids, Philip Treu of Florida, Linda Stone of Montana, Rose (Ken Earle) Hollinshead of Alto, Suzanne (Berny) Berends of Florida, Chris Treu of Grand Rapids, Joe (Cindy) Treu of Florida and Mike (Maurice) Treu also of Florida; 19 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; three siblings, Vivian, Frank and Steve; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by two sons, John Robert and Edward, two sisters and three brothers.

Please pray that all her loved ones are with her in Heaven one day.

                                     God bless,
