Syria has taken a major step toward World War III. Syria and Russia have signed a major weapons deal...

U.S., Israel upset at Moscow's new alliance

Russia and Syria this week signed a major weapons agreement in addition to the energy and trade deal the two countries reportedly reached Wednesday, prompting American and Israeli officials to privately voice concern over Russia's assistance to countries accused of aiding the insurgency in Iraq.

Russian president Vladimir Putin and Syrian president Bashar Assad signed a military cooperation agreement that enables Russia to upgrade Syria's military and sell Damascus advanced arms. Among the first weapons transferred is the sale of an advanced antiaircraft missile system mounted on armored personnel carriers, according to sources. The system is highly effective against low-flying aircraft and cruise missiles, and the mobility offered by the carriers renders the new missiles difficult to detect prior to launch. A deal in the works may also provide Syria with advanced surface missiles capable of engaging multiple targets at once.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov, who participated in talks with Assad, said Moscow is ready to cooperate with Syria "in every direction," including in facing "new challenges and threats" in the Middle East region.

Insurgents have been spotted crossing the Syria-Iraq border, and the U.S. says it has substantial intelligence Syria has been providing fighters with funds, weapons and intelligence information. Several detained insurgents have confessed to receiving Syrian support.

Russia is trying to gain a foothold in the Middle East by lining itself up with Syria and Iraq," said the source. "This is part of a new global order being oriented after September 11 and with America staking out its position in the war on terror. U.S. policy on Russia needs to be updated to reflect this.

Israel's main concerns are not so much about the sale of modern weapon systems to replace aging equipment in the Syrian military, but rather about Israeli technology incorporated in these systems offered by the Russians to their military hardware clientele.

Damascus to be destroyed in the future according to Isaiah, Chapter 17:Verse 1:

Damascus, the capital of Syria, is one of the longest continually-inhabited cities on the planet, but that could change any day now. As you can see from the Scripture above, Damascus is going to be destroyed in the future. With this weapons deal between Russia and Syria could hasten the destruction of Damascus.

And then Our Lady is pointing up farther and that's another map of China and Russia. Our Lady is turning back now: She was looking upward also.

Veronica - . . . Our Lady now is looking down sadly. And I see She's pointing now to what looks like a map. Oh, my!

AN ARABIAN SABER
Veronica - And I can see now Jesus and Our Lady are going high up into the sky, and there's forming directly over Our Lady's statue, high in the sky—it is a cross, a very large cross. The handle, though, of a . . . dagger—it looks like a dagger, a knife. It's a strange-looking dagger with a loop at the bottom, like. It's a symbol. And Jesus is nodding.
Jesus - "You will understand, My child, soon."
Veronica - Yes, it is a, like a saber. Gee, it, it's a very strange-looking, dagger-like saber, with a cross on a handle. Like—it's not the kind that you see—it looks almost like Arabian or something. I can't explain it—like a very strange-looking Arabic, or something. I don't know where I have seen that before, but it's a very odd-looking type of dagger-like sword, with a hook on the end of it, though. That's strange.
