Content of real Third Secret explains why Sister Lucy was unable to write the Third Secret down for three months, although she tried to do so. This mysterious impediment still existed on December 24, 1943, where Sister Lucy made it clear in a letter to Don Garcia "that this phenomenon was not due to natural causes."
Corresponds to the statement made by Fr. Schweigl: Fr. Schweigl was entrusted by Pope Pius XII with a mission to discover more about the Third Secret, and journeyed to Coimbra, Portugal to interrogate Sister Lucy on September 2, 1952. Upon his return to the Russicum in Rome, Fr. Schweigl is reported to have said: "I cannot reveal anything of what I learned at Fatima concerning the third secret, but I can say that it has two parts: one concerns the Pope. The other, logically–although I must say nothing–would have to be the continuation of the words: 'In Portugal the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved.'"
Corresponds to the content of a November 11, 1984 interview with Cardinal Ratzinger (Pope Benedict XVI) by Jesus magazine. The Ratzinger Report substantially altered the text of this interview, especially regarding references to the Third Secret. According to Pope Benedict XVI, the Third Secret deals with "The dangers threatening the Faith and life of the Christian, and therefore the world. And also the importance of the last times. If it is not published—at least for the moment—it is to avoid confusing religious prophecy with sensationalism. BUT THE THINGS CONTAINED IN THIS THIRD SECRET CORRESPOND TO WHAT IS ANNOUNCED IN SCRIPTURE and are confirmed by many other Marian apparitions, beginning with the Fatima apparitions themselves in their known contents. Explains statement made by Cardinal Luciani, the future Pope John Paul I, who was told the Third Secret by Sister Lucy: On July 11, 1977, Cardinal Albino Luciani, the future Pope John Paul I, celebrated Mass at Sister Lucy’s convent chapel in Portugal. Then, upon Sister Lucy’s request, he conversed with her for almost two hours. He appeared visibly shaken from the conversation. He was later heard to say, “The Secret, it’s terrible.”
